Biographies of Board Members:
David Ogg: Chair
David Ogg has been an Accies supporter since the mid to late 60′s when he was lifted over the turnstyle in the old stand at Douglas Park to attend his first few matches. A season ticket soon followed, and this in the days when there were no individual match vouchers.
David has supported the team from afar for many years as he followed a career in the RAF, but managed to attend a number of important games. The pick was probably the deception of offering the current Mrs Ogg a Valentine weekend ‘back home’ when the idea was always to attend the Motherwell cup match in 1997! He also endured the odd drab 0-0 draw with the likes of Stenhousmuir when leave dates didn’t allow a choice of match. Now happily back in the Lanarkshire area, David is relishing following the current Accies team to previously unattainable heights. Somewhat surprised to find himself as Chair of the Trust, he will give it his best shot!
Ian Kelly: Treasurer
Ian has been an Accies supporter since the mid 70s and his favourite players from the different eras are Jamie Fairlie, Neil Howie, Kevin McKee, Paul Hartley, David McFarlane, Jose Quitongo, James McCarthy and Mark McLaughlin.
Ian had seen Accies play games on every ground in the country until Annan were admitted to the league. The lowest point was the cup defeat at Buckie in 2001, although there have been many highlights from a 3-2 win over Motherwell in 1979 , the 5-0 win at Dunfermline, to seeing a rare win at Pittodrie last season. Ian’s favourite Accies memories were when the club won promotion back to Division One at Forfar in 2004 and the first promotion to the Premier in 1986.
Ian regularly attended games during 86/87 and 87/88, despite working and living in Leicester, including the famous cup win at Ibrox. Ian is also a member of the Tartan Army and witnessed Paul Hartley’s Scotland debut in the San Siro. He also attended Italia 90, Euro 96, France 98, Euro 2004 and Euro 2008.
Ian has been Treasurer of the Trust since 2005, is a qualified accountant and very much an Accies stats man.
Alan Hutcheson: Publicity
Alan started supporting Accies around 1964, and shortly afterwards suffered early psychological damage when witnessing Accies’ brief calamitous stay in the top division.
He has served variously as ballboy, programme seller, supporters’ rep, and turnstyle operator, and the highlight of an as yet undistinguished life occurred when he was ballboy at the famous Montrose cup tie in February 1973.
Like fellow supporters, he understands that Accies are the foremost team in world football in every department – except standard of play, and even here he has thrilled at the return of the team to the top flight, and the advance of young, talented players.
He hopes that the late onset of maturity, allied to a legal background, will allow him to make a positive contribution to the Trust, or at least deter Board Members from defaming each other on the Accies messageboard!
Graeme Brown: Web
Graeme Brown has supported Accies since the late 1980s; following in the footsteps of his father and uncle. His earliest Accies memories are standing under the cow shed at Douglas Park enjoying the “banter” with away fans.
Favourite memories include Gary Clark scoring against Airdrie in the 3-2 game, John McGachie celebrating a ruled out goal, winning B&Q cup finals, Fergie, Meadowbank Thistle penalty shoot outs and Colin Harris clearly trying to hit a Motherwell supporting friend when he fired the ball into the terracing.
His one claim to fame is getting an unofficial assist against Forfar Athletic after shouting “keeper” from behind the goal. The defence left the ball for a bemused Ray Allan who could only pick the free header out the net. No one at school that Monday was impressed with that story, as you are as well I am sure…
Favourite all time player is the mighty midfield destroyer Jim Sherry.
Graeme has worked (or attempted to work) as a freelance television editor and web designer between stints in terribly interesting office jobs to pay the bills.
Kenneth Fee
Coming from no family football tradition, Ken Fee was a teenager when he chose to support his home town team, and has followed the Accies ever since, from terracing and stands, from the occasional luxury of watching TV, and more recently in front of the computer.
After early years of ground bagging (not yet completed), he has settled into mainly attending home games, occupying a middle ground between the singing section and the sweetie rustlers. He hasn’t yet adopted a tartan rug, but his trademark long black coat is evidence of his support for a switch to summer football.
Ken is an advocate of family friendly club policies, improved stadium catering, reform of the offside rule, use of technology to help referees, and better recognition of Billy Reid’s tactical innovations. He is an enthusiastic backer of Ronnie MacDonald and the current board, and believes the club deserves greater support from the communities of Hamilton and South Lanarkshire. He sees it as part of the Trust’s mission to increase the club’s fan base and develop greater supporter involvement in Hamilton Academical FC.
Ken’s all-time favourite Accies player is George McCluskey.
